Putin tells Ukraine: End war via talks or I will end it by force

1. Short of nukes, there no sign Putin has held back any force since 2022.

   He spent over a million men and nearly all of Russia’s Cold War munitions and equipment, and is still reduced to meatwave human attacks defeated by drones, mines, artillery and other defenses, at a ruinous K:D ratio. Ignorant of past bombing campaigns against civilian populations, he’s killed tens of thousands of civilian Ukrainians, only increasing their resolve to expel the invader.

   So, this seems to be Putin threatening nukes.

2. if he could end it by force he would not offer to end it by talk weak bluff there, Kaiser Putin. he is doing a lot of worthless diplomacy lately, his power base might be crumbling.

3. It’s taken him three years to conquer 20% of Ukraine, and even now in talks he’s demanding territory that the Russians never managed to capture, which is absurd.

   I don’t see how either side is capable of ending the war by force, since neither are willing to make any sort of tangible concessions.

4. Like this crusty old asshole hasn’t already been trying to end it by force for what, over 3 years now?

   Trump may have pulled back on US support but they are building their own missiles and drones and they are still being supported by other friendly nations.

   Russia probably could “win” a gradual taking of more territory by continuing their war of attrition but it will come at great cost to themselves.

11. What exactly have you left to use Putin? Another million young men? Some more tanks that cost >5 million dollars that’ll be destoryed by a 5 thousand dollar drone? Ukraine is swapping its soldiers for machines and even conservative estimates place Russia’s casualties as ~3x that of Ukraine. Estimates for Ukraine’s current active force are between 1-2 million.

    China won’t send ground troops, not unless they are planning on officially starting WW3. The moment China sends troops, I think will be the moment NATO does as well.

    So this is just another nuclear “threat”. Can’t we just give Ukraine nukes and be done with this war?

12. Yeah, yeah, same big talk as always even though situation is a stalemate for a long time and this is why putin came running to trump in US. He needs trump to pull him out of this shit, without losing face and make it look like a victory. But his most crazy supporters wouldn’t accept anything except total Ukraine defeat and he doesn’t want to lose them

13. This seems to me like tough talk aimed at domestic audiences in Russia, and by extension, China and North Korea.

    Unfortunately, he’s not too far off from the reality of the situation. This war will either end via negotiations, or it will end via Ukrainian surrender at some point in the next few years. Russia is going to be in the driver seat in both of those scenarios, and they’re not going to accept an outcome they aren’t happy with.
