BRADFORD’S Nazim Ali has visited Egypt on an aid trip to help Palestinian refugees living in the country.

Nazim, of Manningham, was in the country at the end of last month in a humanitarian mission organised by his Nazim Ali Foundation in partnership with Watford-based Hayaat Welfare Trust.

With support from members of the public, the 15-strong team collectively raised £94,615 raised for the trip.

They handed out 1,275 Ramadan food parcels and 1,275 hygiene packs, as well as providing 200 meals, clothes vouchers, cash to the most needy, and sweets and toys for youngsters.

“It was profoundly upsetting hearing first-hand testimonies, with beneficiaries visibly emotional.

“However, the smiles and words of gratitude from the beneficiaries made it all the worthwhile.

“We might not be able tochange the world – but we can provide much-needed relief and show we care.”

Nazim thanked everyone who provided donations and supported the aid trip.
