The Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok hosted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson and Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa).

The agreement aims to accelerate digital transformation in Thailand by combining Sweden’s long-standing experience in technology with Thailand’s ambitions to strengthen its digital economy. The initiative comes shortly after Sweden and Thailand entered a Strategic Partnership, which emphasizes collaboration in areas such as innovation, green transition, and digitalization.

Under the MoU, both countries will work together on key priorities including telecommunications, critical infrastructure such as 5G, and the development of resilient and trusted supply chains. The partnership also covers cybersecurity and the protection of an open, secure, and globally interoperable internet.

Ericsson has been present in Thailand for more than a century and continues to be a major player in the country’s communications and network development. With this agreement, the company will support Thailand’s digital goals while strengthening Swedish–Thai cooperation in the technology sector.

The Embassy of Sweden underlined that the collaboration is expected to contribute to building a smarter, more connected, and sustainable future.
