My breath was steaming on the way out to the car this morning, autumn is here!
What's your Friday looking like? Anything planned for the weekend?
Come have a natter x

Husband is off today so we are both off to our respective gyms, then pick up some birthday cards and presents. Dog field trip for the pooches, pop to see family and then we are going for a carvery. Also got to send some vinted stuff, I can guarantee the minute I send the last thing another item will sell 😆
Switched from summer duvet to winter duvet last night, slept well.
I’ve got the most exciting weekend planned. Work on Saturday, clearing our big yellow storage unit on Sunday. Beat that.
As an aside, people who say “ooh, I love autumn, it’s my favourite season!!!” – what’s wrong with you? It means summer is over and winter is coming. I absolutely bastard hate it. For me, the most depressing time of year is when the clocks go back in October. 5 months of drudge and getting dark at 4pm seriously depresses me.
My boy’s first day of nursery school, so lots of emotions. Picking him up at lunch and off the Centre Parcs for the weekend, where feelings of pride and love will be replaced by feelings of being ripped off and fleeced.
I’m pooped and could have done with another hour in bed. Anyway. Onwards!
Popping over to my mum’s after work to lend her a carpet cleaner. Then staying over with friends tonight. Then seeing the in-laws tomorrow. A lot of driving back and forth.
Then Sunday we’ll (hopefully!) be having a chilled day – lunch in town? Maybe a walk? Maybe a nap?
Ahh yes, time to fully commit to knitted jumpers and sweat like a bitch in the surprise sunshine 🍂🙌
I went to the butchers and pointed at a piece of beef and asked for half of it and the butcher cut it in half and weighed it, and then weighed the other half and wouldn’t you know it he’d cut it *exactly* in half. To the gram. You should have seen his little face.
Decided to move myself at work into a different area of the office and as a result have been procrastinating a lot less. Finally managed to finish a project which has been a thorn in my side for months now and might actually be able to earn better commission now.
Amazing how such a simple change can be so good for mentality.
Now I’m looking forward to a nice little sesh with my mates after work. Standard Friday stuff!
So many plans, so little energy
On the plus side, I got my mole checked, and it’s all fine!
I think I’m about to eat meat after 15 odd years of vegetarianism.
I had b12d in 2019, ended up with acid reflux and a gluten intolerance, my diet is somewhat limited and I’ve gotten really tired of being too fussy when it’s feasible to eat it.
We have Sunday lunch this week and mrs bob is doing a roast chicken, sooo…
I read that as autism is here. But actually both work the same. For me, anyway, lol.
Got to go to Guys Hospital later today to get some blood tests done to see if my kidneys are doing OK after this latest stone. Be treating myself with a takeaway and a film tonight.
The weekend will involve a bit of garden maintenance for the autumn/winter seasons – treating the grass to make it a bit hardier, reseeding areas that need it, pruning stuff that needs that and planning out where and when to plant stuff for the late and early bumblebee queens so they can survive the winter.
Also thinking of creating a how-to guide for making a bumblebee nest area for your garden.
Work until half 2… Then 2nd work from half 4 to 8. In between, I need to nip down the car part shop and pick up some service stuff for my old man’s Korean shed, which will be fun with all the roadworks and back to school traffic.
The Mrs is unwell so I have to take out oldest to her meeting this afternoon I’m looking forward to spending a bit of time with her no doubt she will talk my ears off about Horses or whatever game she’s playing with her friends
2nd week of calorie counting is over and then I listen to a More or Less podcast about the same topic and now I’m like the what is the point.
It’s amazing how a ‘small’ snack or treat will add 200-400 calories, which is the amount I need to cut. It deffo explains how I’ve maintained my weight.
I’m not starving or massively hungry but I’m having cravings in the evening when I don’t normally eat, post dinner. Watching bake off hasn’t helped.
good
Today my heating turned itself on for the first time since April – yay it’s officially autumn!
It’s not autumn until 22nd of September
Dunno what you’re on about mate, it was so warm in my bed last night I slept on top of the covers til about five am.
Course I am at SO’s parents place in Slovakia so, your mileage may vary. Gotta get my way through the work day and then I’m no doubt off to the pub, such is the regularity of these things.
I’ve survived my first week back home after a month in hospital, so I’m taking that as a little win for me. Only had two crying sessions in that time, which for me, is adding to my sense of achievement.
Dear top-knot bellend,
When you run out into traffic and I have to brake so I don’t hit you, that does mean you’re at fault. To then do it again on another road a minute later just proves my title. You bellend.
I’m hoping for a reasonably straightforward Friday as this evening and tomorrow morning consist of emptying out parts of the house so the estate agent can pop in tomorrow to take some pictures.
It also sets the clock ticking on finding somewhere to rent and moving out, which means additional work over the next couple of months. That’s obviously going to depend on contracts etc for the sale but a house up the road was only advertised for two days before it got snapped up.
My neck is still a bit stiff. Going to keep trying to stretch it out and hopefully it’s feeling better tomorrow.
Work colleague has still done no work. Yesterday’s excuse was the internet was out at their house. Any guesses on today’s excuse?
Last day off before a full weekend of work.
Waiting on Parcelforce to collect some candles and wax melts for one of the shops I supply, then I’m tackling my hair with a silver ash blonde gloss. It’ll either turn into a shimmering, ethereal goth dream… or make me look like I’m prematurely collecting a pension.
Shite week.
Need a nice chilled weekend but got a few jobs to do on the house and a kids party on Sunday.
Being an adult is wank.
I thought it was Saturday when I woke up this morning. What a disappointment.
I’ve got the day off to transport the olds around for some appointments, it’s a pain in the arse but has to be done. What’s more painful is I’m trying to chat to a girl I met but she responds at a glacial pace.
tis Radiohead day my dudes
Slept really crappily last night, which sucks as I had a great Thursday (my highest cricket run score I’ve done in midweek, plus won the pub quiz, plus celebrating 7 years self employed). So a bit of work before knocking off early for a natter with the missus and some video games this evening.
Tomorrow a parkrun (maybe) and watch the Saturday cricket team. May go to the garden centre on Sunday. I need a new bird window feeder and every one from B&M/Home Bargains has broken within a week.
Woke up this morning to an e-mail from US Homeland Security saying they’ve revoked my ESTA. I’m meant to be flying out on Wednesday. My Friday’s going *amazing*!
