An operation that sensitive definitely does not happen without Presidential approval.
The first 4 words say it all.
A short summary for those who don’t want to read the article;
President Donald Trump said Friday he didn’t know “anything” about what the New York Times reported was a classified 2019 SEAL Team 6 mission in North Korea in which unarmed North Korean civilians were killed during an aborted operation.
The Pentagon and U.S. Special Operations Command declined to comment to ABC News about The New York Times report.
I think we can safely say he knew.
Nope. He’s lying and he can get away with it.
That didn’t happen.
And if it did, it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is, that’s not my fault.
And if it was, I didn’t mean it.
And if I did, you deserved it.
*Trump lies for the 1,551,001th time..
I wish someone would ask him if he doesn’t know anything because he is cognitively impaired or whether he was not informed because the military doesn’t trust him with classified information.
I suspect he will remember.
Of course he doesn’t remember it, he doesn’t even remember who shit in his diaper ten minutes ago
He seems to have serious memory problems.
He’s really not on top of his game. A younger Trump would have called it fake news instead of a back door admission that it happened.
Thing he was deeply involved with and personally approved goes badly? Nope, never heard of it. Nothing to do with me. It’s somebody else’s problem.
Thing he had literally nothing to do with goes well? I did everything, it wouldn’t have happened without me, give me a Nobel Prize.
Quick summary of the story:
SEAL Team flies under the radar into NK, get spotted by a boat. So they spray bullets and kill everyone, then go have a look, and discover they just turned some poor civilian fishermen into Swiss cheese.
Having done all that, they turn tail and fuck off back to base.
Seems plausible…
I have no doubt he is telling the truth, he ordered the mission AND he has no memory of it whatsoever.
I’m assuming he’s just lying because that’s what he does, but in a way it’s actually worse if he didn’t know. That would imply the military is just going on rogue operations with nuclear implications during peacetime without getting presidential approval.
Knowing or not knowing, both are bad looks for him.
Nice so the seal team 6 can just invade a country with no approval from the president?
…wait, how do *WE* know about it?
He is such a lying piece of shit.
Trump has to be the worst at handling delicate info like.
He has no poise or cunning. He just blatantly lies. He can’t fast talk around it. He’s so insecure about the failure that he has shut it out as even happening. Dude can’t hang with real diplomats and operators
Unless he was given a debrief in the form of a Crayola drawing, he probably has no idea.
This is China or Russia flexing their kompromat material that they have on TACO.
50% chance this was leaked to distract from Epstein.
Just imagine the outrage here if another country had done something similar. But its the west, so its ok.
What is the cure for this disease of forgetting any inconvenient truths?
So 2 dozen people willingly discussed top secret material with the New York Times and Seal team 6 just randomly opened up on a boat on the open ocean rather than just leave the area. BS
Hmmm – could he possibly be lying?
So, SEAL Team 6 deployed to North Korea without the approval of the commander-in-chief?
**What did he think he was Commander In Chief of?**
The fuckin’ White House lunch menu?
I don’t remember this mission in SOCOM
If there was evidence of this North Korea would have been blasting it all over the world.
So the US admitted war crimes?
Imagine if Mexican seals would do that and shoot a boat with Texan people in it killing everybody on board and then leaving.
Now you know why most of the world hate us
Nobody admits to covert operations. Idk what this comment section is on about it’s not just Trump being Trump this time.
He didn’t know about it.
If he knew about it. It wasn’t his fault.
If it was his fault, he didn’t do anything wrong.
If he did anything wrong, it’s actually your fault for letting him do it.
I see, I see, I see… anyways, where is the Epstein list?
So he’s either lying about knowing(duh) or grossly incompetent (also yes)
Oh, it’s making me look remotely bad? Didn’t know, fake news, AI.
Oh, it’s making me look tough and cool? I did this, it was all me, no one else
When will people understand that if it is anything negative he either 1 didn’t know 2 it’s fake news or 3 it was Biden and Obama
Jesus, leave it to the Trump admin to completely botch a goddamn espionage mission. They sent the SEAL team in to plant a device to intercept communications, they believed themselves to be spotted and wiped out a boat full of shellfish fishermen. Then they bailed on the mission. The American people deserve to know who signed off on the op, who approved them firing on civilians, and who gave the order to abort after it went south. Trump would have been in the room for all of it, you don’t send out a SEAL team for an op of that magnitude without being in the situation room. And if he wasn’t there that’s grossly fucking negligent.
How’s this for a fun conspiracy theory: Classified info about this is what he stole when he left the White House after his 1st term and was hiding in his bathroom! Why not? First thing that popped into my head, I’m not carrying it any further than that
“Trump denies knowledge” – I actually believe this part
Trump who knows everything never knows a thing.
Imagine if North Korean soldiers massacred Americans at the U.S. border?
Do you really expect any US president to confirm this sort of thing assuming it did happen?
He’ll be bragging about it by Monday
Oh when I got the notification I thought this was about like, 🦭 seals. I was very confused, like we club thousands of the adorable little bastards every year in Canada
So it should be noted that this is his method of life. Here is the search on it. Admit nothing, deny everything and claim victory.
It was famously associated with Trump’s former mentor and lawyer, Roy Cohn, who allegedly taught him a three-part winning strategy:
Attack, attack, attack.
Admit nothing, deny everything.
Always claim victory.
The phrase was cited as a hallmark of Cohn’s strategy during his work with Trump on a 1970s lawsuit.
Its use in connection with Trump
In October 2016, Trump was reported by Politico as saying “I like to deny things” during a campaign rally while addressing false ads.
The phrase and its connection to Cohn were highlighted again in recent coverage of the 2024 film The Apprentice, in which the character of Cohn teaches the rules to Trump.
Political commentators and critics have frequently noted the strategy as a core element of Trump’s public-facing persona and handling of controversies.
Then who the fuck ordered it?
