The United States Men’s National Team are back in action this afternoon when they take on South Korea in a friendly in New Jersey. It’s the USMNT’s first match of the fall after a summer where they advanced to the Gold Cup final, ultimately falling to Mexico by a 2-1 score.

USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino indicated last week that this is the final window he will use to evaluate the large American player pool before he starts the process of narrowing it down to the roster that will compete at next summer’s World Cup. In playing South Korea, they’re facing a strong team that the USMNT could see in the group stage or even the knockout stage. That will allow him to see which of his players can rise to the occasion and compete to get a result.

All eyes will be on the USMNT as they return to the field to see if they can start to elevate their game to the next level and continue to build towards next summer.
