None of this is random, and these are not isolated cases. Quoting from it: “Fourth, safe channels must be established for asylum-seekers, starting with getting them from Greece and Italy to their destination countries.” And part of the first point: “Placing refugees where they want to go – and where they are wanted – is a sine qua non of success.”

    Edit: just to add that there is nothing to be solved here because this is not identified as a problem from the governments’ pov in all of Europe.

  11. I’m not being funny, but how hard is this to stop? Just detain them, put them on a one-way trip to Madagascar. Everyone wins.. Madagascar gets a burst of diversity (a strength), a GDP boost, enriched culture, and some new vibrant recipes. What’s not to love?
