Basha meets with the Slovenian ambassador – Asks for support for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe

The new Speaker of the Parliament, Dimal Basha, received today the new Ambassador of Slovenia, Borut Blaj. The press release states that Basha congratulated Blaj on his position and welcomed him to Kosovo, emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Basha also thanked the Slovenian ambassador for the continued support that the Slovenian government and people have provided for Kosovo.
“During the meeting, President Basha informed the ambassador about the constitution of the Assembly and the high importance for the functioning of other institutions. He also requested support from Slovenia for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe and for obtaining candidate status for the European Union, and expressed his position on the necessity of removing measures that negatively affect the development and advancement of Kosovo in the international arena,” the statement said, among other things.
