For those that 'can't read joined up' it says
To Sister and Brother
I hope the numbers on this card is not increased to 1918 and that victory is ours, in this year.
But as the Scotchman says "I have my doubts"
Yours

I’m reminded of the line from the end of Blackadder Goes Forth when they briefly think the war is over. The ending of that episode was brutal.
Right I was reading that as “Yo sister and brother” and started off in a much more jaunty tone from what it ended up.
Can’t see any humour in that
There is a good chance that embroidery was done by the sender, maybe in hospital. It was common for recovering soldiers to work on an embroidery or tapestry kit.
Bet Antiques Roadshow would be interested in that. The embroidery is in amazingly good condition.
How is his ‘card’ and ‘and’ written exactly the same way?
