Delhi High Court hears a plea by Karisma Kapoor’s children seeking a share in their late father Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore estate. They allege that stepmother Priya Kapur forged the will to claim full control. Sr Adv Mahesh Jethmalani, for the children, argued the will was read in haste, the trust deed withheld, and suspicious circumstances exist. Sr Adv Rajiv Nayar, for Priya Kapur, contended the suit is not maintainable. Sr Adv Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for Karisma Kapoor’s children, argued that the circumstances surrounding Sunjay Kapur’s will are highly suspicious. He submitted that the will was never disclosed to the family and even the executor admitted learning about it only a day earlier. The disclosure, he pointed out, came from Dinesh Aggarwal—an employee of the family—raising further doubts. Jethmalani submitted that the will is unregistered, suddenly surfaced without mentioning the children, and was read in haste at the Taj Hotel. Karisma Kapoor’s children have sought interim relief from the Court. Court: Matter placed after two weeks. Once I register the suit, the doctrine of lis will apply.”
