So apparently Russian drones crossed into NATO’s airspace, and the alliance had to scramble jets to take them out. At this point it feels like NATO’s stuck with two real options: either go all-in and crush Russia directly, or finally give Ukraine the kind of air defense systems they actually need.

  1. These can’t be the only two real options, because neither of them will occur.

  2. Take out the base that sent drones over NATO airspace. That would be a just and restrained answer.

  3. Unfortunately NATO is looking weaker by the day.

US: no longer a reliable ally. Turkey: never a reliable ally, only kept in the alliance due to extreme strategic importance. Baltics: absolutely feral, but still small and in a complicated positions. Poland: its internal political resolve to fight and even its touted millitary might have been a little overrated.

The rest of Euro Western countries are dealing with decadent economies, increasingly political unrest and they have mostly skeleton millitaries.
