I live alone but have accumulated 52 teaspoons over the years!

  1. Btw, I didn’t nick them from work – I always used my own teaspoon and guarded it with my life. Teaspoons vanishing from the workplace is a well-known phenomenon…

In 2004 Australian scientists conducted a study into disappearing teaspoons:

    >In January 2004 the authors found their tearoom bereft of teaspoons. Exasperated by our consequent inability to stir in our sugar and to accurately dispense instant coffee, we decided to respond in time honoured epidemiologists’ fashion and measure the phenomenon.

    >Lacking any guidance from previous researchers, we set out to answer the age old question:

    >*“Where have all the bloody teaspoons gone?”*

  2. Can I have some? Never enough teaspoons here. Feels like I’ve bought 5 different cutlery sets in the last 5 years, and still never enough

  3. So you’re the bugger who’s been stealing mine!

  4. How do I claim my teaspoon return?

Is there a form I need to complete?

  5. You live alone, don’t buy any and don’t steal them?

One of those statements is obviously a lie.

  6. You found the end of the teaspoon vortex!

I need a few back please.

  7. WTF OP.

You clearly are the problem behind everyone else’s disappearing teaspoons.

  8. Sooo, you’ve never purchased one but have a multitude. Perhaps there something in your own behaviour you’re not addressing here

  9. Somehow over the 13 years I worked where I did in California we somehow went through almost six sets of silverware for a department of 17 people…I’ve at least now got an answer as to where the spoons went. Maybe the forks ended up in Spain?

  10. If you’ve got all the missing teaspoons, you should probably have a look in your sock drawer.

  11. I get them going missing from work etc but they don’t just appear out of nowhere unless there is a teaspoon fairy I haven’t heard of

  12. You have many teaspoons, while I seem to have fewer and fewer by the day.

  13. The only explanation is that you’ve been nicking them

  14. There’s a canteen nearby going “what the hell happened to the teaspoons?”

  15. Work in primary education, sending them in your kid’s packed lunches is a big cause of tea spoon shortage, they accidentally bin the lot or get mistaken as school one. Send disposable wooden ones instead.

  16. Ah the spoon gnome my old nemesis.

    BTW those mugs are amazing

  17. When I lived with my ex-inlaws for a bit they only had like 3 teaspoons so I bought like 30 and over a number of months jus started adding them one by one, they had no idea what was going on

  18. Reminds me of one of the factories i worked in… Management wouldn’t buy us some teaspoons (for the multiple breakrooms the building had)…. Fun thing when you regularly produce stainless steel sheet offcuts and have a 5Kw CNC laser machine… Made like 200 teaspoons on a slow day… Toolshop manager even made us a fixture for one of the flypresses for indenting the bowl… Good arm workout that day.

  19. Conversely I keep buying ’em and I can never find one when I want one.

Logical conclusion: Those are *my* teaspoons, you thieving git!

  20. Somewhere there is a person in a workplace asking “Where are all of the bloody teaspoons going”

  21. Definitely some of mine in there, give them back.
