Supermarkets are rolling out their Christmas savings schemes, and by putting in money, you could get up to 15% extra on top – slashing the cost of your festive shopping. According to community members at hotukdeals.com, the money-saving community, supermarket bonus cards and Christmas saver schemes are one of the easiest ways to make your Christmas budget stretch further.
“These schemes are a simple way to get a guaranteed return on money you’re already planning to spend,” said Dan Evans for hotukdeals.com. “The bonuses may not seem huge, but with families facing rising costs this Christmas, every little extra helps (and not just at Tesco).”
Here’s what the main supermarkets are offering in 2025:
Asda – Christmas Savings Card
Shoppers can load money onto a dedicated card and receive a bonus by November 9. The maximum reward is £15 when you save £280 or more, equivalent to a 5.3% return. Leftover funds don’t expire, giving customers extra flexibility.
Tesco – Clubcard Christmas Savers
Clubcard members can save their vouchers and top up with cash by October 16. Tesco offers up to £12 back on a £200–£360 top-up, a 6% bonus. Vouchers (including the bonus) are issued in November.
Sainsbury’s – Christmas Club Card
By loading at least £50, shoppers earn a 5% bonus, with a maximum of £25 when saving £500. Money must remain on the card until November 1. Balances can be spent at Sainsbury’s or Argos.
Iceland – Bonus Card Christmas Boost
Iceland offers one of the most generous deals: for every £20 added, shoppers get £1 extra, plus a £10 bonus for saving £100 by 4 November – a potential return of 15% on the first £100.
Morrisons – Digital Christmas Savers
Via the Morrisons More app, shoppers can save with digital stamps until October 31. Bonuses range from £1 on £49 saved to £6 on £194+, up to 3%.
Co-op – Savings Stamps Booklet
Customers who buy £48 worth of £1 stamps receive £50 to spend in December, effectively a 4% boost.
Shoppers are also advised to keep an eye on Lidl and Aldi, which don’t run year-round saving schemes but often offer short-term deals such as 10% off your next shop when you spend a set amount.
