I’ve never searched for anything related to it, clicked on any of these, and I always click the show me less of this sort of thing button.
Wondering if it’s everyone based in the UK or the algorithm just reeeeally wants me to get in to watching football?

  4. I just immediately click ‘show fewer’ or whatever it is and it takes the hint for a few months

  5. Oh my god I thought it was just me!!! I have zero interest or shown ANY interest in the sport yet I have to block several a day!! Super frustrating

  7. Yes. They’re trying to flog warehouses full of absolutely crap 90s/00s football shirts by convincing you they really are cool as fuck and worth the £89 they’ll charge you for them.

  8. Not on Reddit but on TikTok I’m constantly being presented football videos despite my general dislike of the sport

  10. Actually yes. I usually get recommended the same few footie subs which I don’t mind but recently I’ve been getting all sorts of niche ones that nobody would care about

  13. The reddit app is shit, I just use a browser and ad blocker to block all the crap reddit tries to throw at you 

  14. I’ve definitely noticed the algorithm changed recently. Getting a lot more random subs and lots of football subs pop up if I stray into the ‘popular’ feed.

  16. Endlessly. It’s driving me mad. I ask it to stop showing me posts like that…and it just shows me a different player next time.

    I don’t recall ever showing any interest in anything football related on Reddit before (because I have no interest in football!)

  21. If you dig around your settings a bit you can turn off suggestions

    Half my suggestions were subs I would dislike, so it felt like Reddit was rage baiting me

  23. Just remove recommendations from home feed in your privacy settings. My Reddit got much better after I did that. Less facebooky

  24. I haven’t but I probably will now. I hate football. Any way of changing it so it shows you what you’ve joined again?

  27. No but I am getting pages about Charlie Kirk’s shooting, mainly the ones that are praising it….haven’t seen a single page recommended to me that’s denouncing it.

  30. Every single time anything, even remotely football related appears, I block it. You would have thought the algorithm or whatever it is would have figured out I’m not interested, but apparently not.

    I’m convinced they’re doing it to annoy me

  31. I’m constantly being recommended random cities and towns. With the greatest respect, I have never been nor do I ever imagine I’ll ever go to Plymouth, it’s over 200 miles south of me, and yet it keeps recommending for some reason.

  32. Yes, so annoying. Especially considering the majority of these players play for rival teams.

    I also find it odd supporting players rather than teams.

  35. It did but honestly I kind of just assumed its because I’m from Grimsby, after that bit of wierdness football wise a couple of weeks back I started interacting with local subs a lot more than Normal which at the time had a natural football tint to it as well and it went from there.
