A royal PR expert has revealed what Meghan Markle will need to do if she wants to win back the public. This comes as the second season of the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, flopped in the streaming site’s charts.

Unlike the first season of the show, she failed to break into the top 10 globally, in the UK, and in the US, despite having household names such as John Legend and Chrissy Tiegan make an appearance.

Natalie Trice, founder of Natalie Trice Publicity, has broken down what she believes Meghan’s next steps will be to win over the public again. And Natalie believes the answer is simple: Meghan needs to be more consistent with her public relations approach.

Consistency has been a sore topic for Meghan and Harry, who announced in 2020 that they wanted a more private life, only for them to star in bombshell interviews and TV documentaries. Harry even published a book, Spare, which delved into his life as a royal. Therefore, Natalie believes they need to be consistent with the image they are trying to portray.

“I have said this before, if they want to win back the love of the public, they need to be consistent. The changes in product, approach, content, and desire to still be in the spotlight, despite the past few years dominating the fallout of not wanting fame, are still there,” Natalie told Daily Express US.

The publicist also thinks that if Meghan goes back to her roots, before her royal life, she’ll encourage more favor from the public. Meghan was known previously for her charity work and her mission for equality, but this isn’t something we see much of now.

“I don’t think that this is a popularity contest; what I think is [that she should go] back to her own purpose, her mission and vision, and be true to that. I can’t see that it’s going to be a happy ever after tea party at the palace, but there is room for something better,” Natalie explained.

“This isn’t proving to be an easy path, but it’s not just about publicity for the sake of it or for likes on pretty IG posts; it’s about the legacy she is creating, and there is work still to be done. Keep showing up as you, keep things real, take advice from people who can see the bigger picture, and keep consistent,” she added.

However, Natalie did note that this isn’t going to be a short race and that the pair needs to be in it for the long run if they wish to mend their image, saying, “I think there is a way back if she does it the right way.”
