The European Union has approved a new sanctions package against the Russian Federation, which will be in effect until March 15, 2026, and covers more than 2,500 individuals and entities.
In response to threats and to bolster deterrence, NATO has launched the ‘Eastern Guard’ operation. Its main aim is to strengthen the defense capabilities of the eastern flank and improve coordination among allies in the field of security and defense.
In Poland, Parliament passed a law that extends the legal status of Ukrainian refugees’ stay to March 4, 2026. At the same time, the eligibility conditions for the ‘800+’ payments were strengthened: the money will be available mainly to those who are employed or whose children study in Polish schools. Additionally, adult Ukrainians’ access to certain medical services has been adjusted.
