Visually beautiful yes but the ecology and biodiversity of those landscapes are literal biodeserts which have just fragments of actual natural beauty remaining and we all need to start seeing it for what it really is, a landscape devoid of natural habitats.
Oh how Wales could be the most beautiful country in the world if we worked together to rewild it and bring back the Atlantic Rainforests, oak woodlands, meadows, birch forests atop of the mountains and restored wetlands and peatlands.
Add to that the historical beauty of Wales, in just a few short years it could be the healthiest place for wildlife on the planet!
We just have to stop farming sheep and animals and we can rewild the majority of Wales and be an eco tourism powerhouse. Continue to give the farmers subsidies for environmental protection and eco tourism ideas and actually get visitors from around the world to visit and they’ll hear the Welsh language first hand when they’re doing wildlife and nature tours with the stewards of the land.
If you want to rewild at least half of Wales (currently only 2.5% of Wales’ entire landmass is natural habitat and 78.3% if fields/pasture for animals), give me an upvote.
Fuck sake, the Irish get a pot of gold at the end of their rainbow we get that. Someone’s taking the piss.
I took my dog to wales and I meditated on one of the hills. Beautiful land. My great uncle fell in love with this land and stayed to become a Mayor. RIP ‘George’
absolutely stunning
Cycled around there a few years ago was brilliant
Beautiful photos. I had a week around West and North Wales last week! It was awesome. A lot of villages were disappointing as shops are just failing in general but the castles and landscape and beautiful. I’m not one for shopping but sad to see thriving seaside towns cut in half really. Llandudno was a good example of this. Only half of the promenade was being used really. Apparently it used to scretch much further along. It was my first visit but a local was telling us. I thought it was just city centres suffering but had a bit of a shock really.
holy shit the sun dose shine out of it’s arse🤣
We stayed in Bala, cute little town, but not much there, not far from Barmouth either
