Romanian Defense Minister Ionut Moșteanu said that Russian drones cross the country’s airspace almost every week.

This was reported by the publication Aktual 24.

He confirmed that one drone had flown into Romania the day before, but added that similar incidents occur “almost every week.”

“We have challenges from Russia almost every week. We make statements every time we see them, and they are on the Romanian border. They are coming more and more often, there are drone attacks on the Romanian border, on the northern border of Dobruja. Almost every week we have planes in the air, either ours or our German partners, who have a forward air police mission here,” explained Moșteanu.

The minister also said that the scrambled fighter jets did not intercept a Russian drone that crossed the airspace on the evening of September 13.

According to him, the planes approached the UAV, which was flying very low, but it changed direction and returned to the territory of Ukraine.

As a reminder, during the Russian air attack on Ukraine , a Russian drone violated Romanian airspace and flew into the country’s territory.

As it became known, the Russian drone was in Romanian airspace for about 50 minutes and descended to a distance of 10 kilometers.
