Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has launched its first route between Scandinavia and South Korea.

The airline is now operating services between Copenhagen and Seoul with an initial schedule of four weekly flights using Airbus A350 aircraft.

Anko van der Werff, president and CEO of SAS, said it was an “exciting day” as the airline launched the route on Friday (12 September).

“With our inaugural flight to Seoul, we are not only responding to strong customer demand but also strengthening the ties between Scandinavia and one of Asia’s most vibrant hubs”, added van der Werff.

“Seoul is a global centre of culture, innovation, and business, and we are proud to add it to our growing intercontinental network.”

SAS will drop down to three weekly services on the Copenhagen-Seoul route between November 2025 and March 2026, but it will offer six flights per week from June 2026 onwards.

The airline wants to develop Copenhagen as a “leading global hub” and now offers 14 intercontinental destinations from Denmark’s capital.
