Actor Owen Cooper from ‘Adolescence’ becomes youngest Emmy winner at 15 • FRANCE 24 English
There was no one show that dominated the night. It as if it’s as if voters for the Emmys decided to spread the love. But let’s start with the studio, which is the big hit Apple TV Plus uh show. It’s the story of a movie producer here in Hollywood that is torn between his artistic ambitions and the business and commercial needs. It’s both a love story and a satire of Hollywood. 13 trophies in all, the most wins ever for a comedy in a single season. and co-creator Seth Rogan won four of them, including acting, writing, directing, and producing when he was on the stage. He called it surreal that he’d never won anything before in his life. Uh, one of the main uh, shockers of the night came in the drama category. The hit show Severance went into the evening as a favorite with 27 nominations, but the best drama award went to The Pit on HBO. It’s a medical drama set over one endless chaotic ER shift at a hospital. And the main star finally got his moment in the limelight. Noah Wy won best actor in a drama. His first ever Emmy after five nominations without a win in the 1990s when he became a rising star thanks to the show called ER uh in the 1990s. The the ovation for him when he won that that Emmy was one of the loudest of the night. And then of course impossible not to talk about adolescence. The uh the li limited series really delivered on a massive hype. The hit British show was watched more than 140 million times in the first three months following its release and it did win uh several Emmys tonight including best limited series writing, directing and lead actor. Uh, that last one went to 15-year-old Owen Cooper, who has now become the youngest male actor ever to win an Emmy award.
Searing teen murder saga “Adolescence” was the big winner at Sunday’s Emmy Awards, claiming eight prizes including best limited series, while “The Pitt” prevailed in a tight race for best drama at television’s equivalent of the Oscars. 15-year-old Owen Cooper, who played Jamie Miller in “Adolescence”, won best supporting actor for his role, becoming the youngest ever male actor to win an Emmy.
