SIP Vespa Roadtrip 2025: Community on Swiss passes
Landsberg am Lech / Switzerland – At the beginning of August 2025, the SIP Scootershop team, including company founders Ralf Jodl and Alex Barth as well as two international guests from Manila and Bangkok, set off on an unforgettable adventure: the SIP Vespa Roadtrip through Switzerland with the legendary Vespa meeting “Snail Days” in Leuk, Valais as its destination.
After starting in Germany, the route led over spectacular Alpine passes – including the Hahntennjoch and the Albula Pass – to Chur, a city with historical flair. Not via highways, but along winding and scenically outstanding routes.
On the second day, the Oberalp and Furka Passes were on the program before the group arrived in Leuk – surrounded by vineyards, with a view of the Rhône Valley. There they met friends from France from the Scooter Club du Sud-Est and their hosts “Snails” for an atmospheric evening and a breathtaking sunset.
The third day marked the highlight: the meeting kicked off in the middle of Leuk with music, joyful encounters and the unusual “Snail Race” competition – a contest in which slowness, not speed, was required. The slowest person to cover ten meters wins. To loud cheers, SIP product designer Elvis secured the title of “slowest snail”.
The return journey then led over the Grimsel and Susten Passes, past Lake Lucerne, to Horgen. A ferry ride across Lake Zurich took the group to Meilen and on to the Hotel Hirschen. The final stage took the group over the Damüls Alm, the Furkajoch and the Riedberg Pass back to Landsberg am Lech.
Conclusion & thanks
18 Vespa enthusiasts formed a close-knit community that overcame common challenges – from breakdowns and capricious weather to improvised repairs – with flying colors. The “Young Guns”, for example, repaired an exhaust pipe in a mountain hut without any external help.
SIP Scootershop would like to thank Gabriel and the Snails for organizing the Snail Days, all participants, especially the Scooter Club du Sud-Est from France, and looks forward to a repeat of this Vespa experience – perhaps at the SIP Open Day in Landsberg.
