  1. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said he does not believe in the effectiveness of any guarantees for Ukraine and proposed abandoning this term.

He made this statement during his speech at the annual Yalta European Strategy meeting in Kyiv, according to a correspondent for European Truth.

Sikorski said that, in his opinion, Ukraine “already has guarantees, even if they are called ‘assurances’ in the Budapest Memorandum.” He is convinced that if other, more specific guarantees are provided, they will not work.

The minister recalled that the purpose of the security guarantees for Ukraine under discussion is to deter Russia from new aggression: “That is, if you attack someone who has been given guarantees (i.e., Ukraine – EP), we will start a war to defend them.”

“In other words, if we provide security guarantees to Ukraine, we are saying that we can start a war against Russia. And I don’t think it’s convincing that there is trust in this. Anyone who wants to fight Russia can start right now. But I don’t see anyone willing to do so,“ he shared his thoughts. ”But in international relations, there is nothing worse than giving guarantees that no one trusts.”

Sikorski called for recognition that this is not about guarantees for Ukraine.

“We are not talking about guarantees, but about monitoring peace and strengthening Ukraine,” he stressed.

  2. coalition of the willing? It’s more like “another friend group get together” – they have done nothing for Ukraine.

  3. My respect for Poland unexpectedly grew a lot lately, they are not afraid to tell the truth, however they see it, even if it goes against the general western agenda. I’ve seen they’ve also admitted the house that got hit was hit by a mailfunction anti-air missile, not the drone, which also shows their regard for truth is also above the agenda. This is very rare nowadays, almost unique. Huge respect for that.

It also might give us a hit that Poland will not vote for silencing Hungary or anything like that in the near future because they can surely expect to be silenced next right after Hungary.

  4. It depends what you mean with guarantees. If the guarantees state that Ukraine will receive X amount of weapons/cash regularly if anything happens again, that would be way better agreement than the budapest memorandum which was not worth the toilet paper it was written on.

  5. The words of a true leader.

Of course – while perhaps a trivial sounding analogy imagine shoplifters that keep getting caught stealing by the police but the courts never sentence the criminals. Every time being released to steal again and more. A deterrent only works when it has a fierce bite.

The good thing is that Ukraine has already beat the rushians into retreat by now. Time to go in for the KILL.

And do not stop at Moscow. Split up the vast land into 30 or 40 different countries.

  6. The best guarantor of peace is a strong, highly armed independent Ukraine.

  7. The coalition didn’t achieve anything, Sikorski is right, Ukraine doesn’t need a coalition of talkers but they need financial and military support and lots of it.

  8. Give nuke to Ukraine . The wwilrd has changed. Nobody care about treaties like NPT so France should give a few ASMP to Ukraine.

  9. In other words, let’s find money and weapons for the Ukrainians to continue dying for us for a few more years, at least 2026 and 2027. Fuck this.

Ukraine will hate us when this is over, and rightly so.

  10. > “Anyone who wants to fight Russia can start right now. But I don’t see anyone willing to do so”

    **#FACTS**

  11. I hate to say it because it is a Pandora box, they need about 30 nukes.

  12. Just give he Ukrainians what they need to thoroughly defeat Russia once and for all

  13. Sadly that last sentence is the very reason ruzzia keeps going. No fear of retribution.

  14. We should just let our european MICs do the talking and give guarantees.
“Okay Putin, either you fuck off, or we’ll gift 500 Leo2A8 and 5000 drones to Ukraine every month from now on. And if you ever think about coming back, we throw everything we have against you. Bitch.”

Would be way more believable than any politicians talk at the moment.

  15. He’s right, although every time one of us says it here, we get downvoted mercilessly.

I’ll eat my own ass if a single nation commits to fighting Russia if Ukraine is attacked again. The only way it MIGHT happen is if the US is spearheading the effort.

  16. Sikorsky would cut his own throat if blood would splash on a Russians shirt…abhorrent human being

  17. NATO exists. No one is going to join a lesser alliance. Therefore, Ukraine’s future is as a member of NATO. How long it will take to get there is determined by the flow of military aid.

  18. Funny that a Poland spokesperson said that, they are the next in the list if Ukraine falls

  19. They do not need peacekeepers when there is no peace to keep. Arm Ukraine. Sanction the shit out of Russia. Use the frozen assets. Threaten Hungary’s EU membership if they do not co-operate. It is not complicated how to let Ukraine win. Western Europe is just weak.

  20. It is ok that no one wants to fight Russia, we didn’t want to fight it in 2022 either. It is just that reality might force you to do some things. Will they “want” to fight Russia if Russia invades Poland or Lithuania? Isn’t it easier to fight Russia on Ukrainian territories than destroying NATO members cities?

  21. He’s not wrong. Europe could be shooting down missiles and drones over Ukraine at the very least, but they arent even willing to do that.

  22. Nonsense!

Britain has the Weoley Warriors and the English Defence League ready to do their patriotic bit.

I have no doubt whatsoever that they would all be on the front line of a NATO war with Russia.

    Keen bunch!

  23. Let’s start with a no-fly zone above Ukraine. Place a heavy amount of NATO forces around Kaliningrad. And threaten Putin, that if he dares inter intervene with NATO air forces creating a no-fly zone. We will dimilitarize and de-nazify Kaliningrad.

Show Putin that we can play his dirty game aswell. It’s time to show Putin our nasty side aswell, we have been patient and nice enough. And Putin takes that as weak. Then we’ll show him how ‘weak’ we actually are.

  24. I’m American and I want to actually fight ruzzia. If I wasn’t old and fat with a heart condition, I would be.
