As an autistic person myself who struggles a lot with getting what I want out of relationships and has struggled with finding a career after college it’s great seeing that Flora is a loved member of her family, has a happy marriage, and has a successful career that she enjoys. Hope she will get involved in helping other autistic individuals, she could become an inspiration. Her grandmother’s uncle Prince John likely had autism or another intellectual disability. He tragically passed away from epilepsy at 13.

  1. What an excellent article. I was saying ”Yep” the entire time. It’s nice to see it written out and clear, something I have never been able to accomplish. I’m saving it to use in the future.

  2. This was a great read. I was misdiagnosed with what was then Asperger’s as a small child, and even then, the psychiatrist said it didn’t really fit, “but there was nothing else it could be”. A little over 20 years later, I finally got what I believe is the right diagnosis four years ago: ADHD. Recognising neurodiversity in women has come so far in the past ten years or so. While it may be a later diagnosis than those diagnosed as adults would like (including myself), at least we know now. I applaud Flora for putting herself out there like this, neurodiversity is still so stigmatised. I’m glad she has such a great support network.

  3. Yeah, I was very happy to see her share her experience and highlight the problem with diagnosing neurodiversity in women. It’s great to see an autistic woman lead a happy life.
