  1. Ukraine’s Zelensky told the European parliament that Western partners will have to provide an additional $60 billion for the regime to continue the war effort for another year.

Zelensky (whose presidential term has long expired) told Eurocrats:

“The price of one year of war is $120 billion. We have $60 billion here. We need to find another $60 billion. This is non-negotiable. It’s impossible to continue otherwise. This is why we talk so much about the funding”.

Experts have noted that European taxpayers’ money is being wasted on fighting an ‘unwinnable’ war on behalf of a non-EU state — a conflict that keeps escalating due to consistent Western intervention.

    ‘Give peace a chance’

Russia meanwhile has proposed a diplomatic solution to the crisis.

Moscow has put forward its proposal, which consists of ‘recognising the realities on the ground’, a limit on the number of regime forces, and a formal ban on Nato membership.

    Ukraine rejects it.

  2. At some point we need to stop indulging in wishful thinking and face reality. Without a substantial deployment of Western troops, Ukraine has little chance of winning this war. But do we truly want to risk such an escalation? Are we actually prepared to fight if it comes to that? Realistically, I don’t think so.

If we continue avoiding that step, the conflict will only drag on, at the cost of countless Ukrainian lives. And for what? Mostly to weaken Russia in our own strategic interest, though the damage inflicted so far is far from decisive. Meanwhile, Russia seems to be holding up, while Europe is gradually but steadily declining.

I know this view won’t be popular, but perhaps it’s time to acknowledge that serious peace talks are the only realistic way forward.

  3. Genuinely curious, Vietnam sent USA packing without that much of a help from outside, Afghanistan did it twice with both Soviet union and USA also without that much money, why Ukraine get all that support and still not achieved anything. I mean Hamas is holding up against Israel with home made weapons.

  4. We have frozen Russian assets so why can’t we liquidate them or at least give them to the Ukrainians to figure it out? Instead of this weird ball and shell game where you “give” them money but actually is old equipment and you’re just buying from your own industrial base to fill in the gap.

  5. The war will drag on for at least another 2 years. Supporting Ukraine is a geopolitical neccesity for the West. Russia can be weakened as much as it can be via Ukraine.

The detoriation of EU’s economy and the rise of right is the price but it seems it can be contained so far.

Though I think if Europe tries to heavily.re-arm, then they won’t be able to halt right’s rise and such re-arming will hit the budgets everywhere very heavily, eventually dropping level of prosperity significantly.
