Tesla has registered 4,400 vehicles across 10 of its European markets between September 8 and 14, figures compiled by X user and sales data tracker ‘piloly‘ showed on Thursday.

In the first week of the month, the company led by Elon Musk had sold 3,900 units across the UK, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Iceland.

Last week’s figures bring the September total (1-14) to 8,300 EVs.

In just the first half of the month, Tesla sold about 63% of its estimated total August volume in Europe — 13,162 units across 13 countries, including Germany and France and according to official national data and numbers from the platform EU-EVs.

After eleven weeks, and with the third quarter nearing its end, sales are 11.3% higher than in the first quarter.

However, they remain 11% lower than in the July — September period a year ago.

From January 1 through the second week of September, Tesla registrations across Europe were down 20.4%.

Sales in Europe have been plunging since the beginning of the year, following CEO Elon Musk’s political involvement, increased competition from Chinese EV makers entering the continent and the refresh of the best-selling Model Y.

The switch to the new version disrupted production and sales in the first months of 2025.

Despite that, some markets show the opposite trend. Norway, the world leader in EV adoption, continues to see rising registrations for the US brand.

Data compiled by ‘piloly‘ showed that, just two weeks before the end of the quarter, Tesla‘s sales in Norway have already surpassed the total registrations recorded in the third quarter of 2024 — making this the brand’s best third quarter ever in the country.

According to Elbilstatistikk, 3,254 Tesla vehicles were sold in Norway since the beginning of September, already representing 45.7% of the total 7,114 vehicles sold since July 1.

Between September 8 and 14, Tesla sales in Europe rose 7.8% from the previous week, marking the company’s best sales week of the quarter.

The same happened in China, where Tesla sold 15,350 vehicles last week — its strongest weekly sales figures of the quarter for the second week in a row.

Sequentially, sales grew 7.3%. Ssales year to date are still down by 7% when compared to the same period a year ago.

The EV maker recently launched in China the Model Y L, with a six-seat configuration, and the Model 3+, which offers the sedan’s longest range to date — at 830 km.

Tesla started deliveries of the six-seater Model Y L in the beginning of September. According to CEO Elon Musk on X, the model will not be produced in the US until late 2026, “might not ever.”

In the final week of August, Tesla also introduced a new variant of the Model Y in Europe — the Model Y Performance.

The model is already available to order in most markets, and deliveries are expected to start this month already in countries such as Germany or the Netherlands.
