Bali to block new hotels and restaurants after deadly flooding raises questions about mass tourism. The climate crisis is intensifying the rainy season, and overdevelopment and widespread deforestation are believed to be worsening the impact of flooding.

Well yeah, less trees and more cement will obvs make things worse
Been visiting Bali for 35 years. They really should have stopped all new construction of roads and hotels 20 years ago, if not earlier. But it’s too late. The island’s natural beauty and culture and charm is long gone now. It’s a horrible mess of traffic and pollution and masses of obnoxious tourists.
