  1. Straight outta 2005

At least it’s not thingy mcthingface, though!

  2. Like the winner, but also the runners up: Pulp Friction and Leaf-Fall Weapon.

  3. That 70s design aesthetic and colour pallete is awesome.

  4. I’m glad that within all the doom and gloom, we can all have a sense of ̶h̶u̶m̶o̶r̶ humour.
    Edit: Fixed spelling.

  5. This is the stuff that makes me proud to live here.

  6. I am also looking forward to 30 years time when none of the kids know what this is a reference to.

  7. The man in the picture has a dodgy past, however in the job interview he said he was looking to turn over a new leaf.

  8. Why are my nans curtains from.the 70s on the side of the train ?

  9. Control shift escape is a quicker way to get to task manager. Control alt delete takes longer.

  10. And they actually went through with it?

They didn’t change it to the Sir David Attenborough? I’m impressed

  11. Why is this such a hard and persistent problem?

Why can one not clip a small, stiff wire in front of each wheel assembly (on all trains) that knocks/scrapes (some) leaves off?

Some wires will get bent or broken or lost, so once a week, just bend them back or replace them.

I suppose there is quite a distance from the carriage to the rail…  Hmmm…

There has to be a better way than a dedicated train traveling throughout the country every autumn.

How do the Germans or the Japanese do it?

  12. This is the UK culture I love, not the hooligans painting red crosses at roundabouts

  13. a lot of young people will not get this reference. it’s interesting how most people under 30 or 40 (?) just skipped the PC era entirely and went straight to mobile devices.

  14. Pretty solid name I know people usually run with the McFace joke But thats getting a bit old now

  15. Of course Tim Dunn reveals it. I say this as a fan of his. I actually saw him out and about lately and he’s just as excited when the cameras are off as what he is when they’re on him.

  16. “CTRL A DELEAF” would’ve made more sense. But out of the shortlist, this was certainly the best.

  17. Is this one eventually gonna star in an overmemed comic strip too?

  18. Finally something I can be proud of my country for (besides our electrical sockets)

  19. I use to love working in the MPV’s. Was a great job and pain at the same time.

  20. How do they deal with the leaves of Apple trees though?

  21. I feel like control-alt-delete is mostly used these days for the enterprise windows login (the idea being that only windows can intercept that keystroke so a random program can’t pretend to be the login prompt).

That means we’d be replacing leafs on the tracks with logs on the tracks, and … that’s not ideal.

  22. Finally, someone listened to the public!

Lucky no MP was involved, or it would have become “Leaf Clearing Train” in boring blue and white.

At least this makes people smile.

  23. Won’t matter when it’s completely covered in s**t literally after weeks of jetting!
