Marella cruises

Marella Cruises has unveiled an exciting lineup for its Summer 2027 programme, featuring stunning new destinations and a host of returning favourites. Highlighting the announcements is the return to Albania with an inaugural call at the charming coastal town of Sarandë. While Marella has previously sailed to Albania, this marks the first time the cruise line will bring guests to Sarandë, offering travellers a chance to experience the breathtaking Albanian Riviera. Alongside this, Marella Discovery 2 will also explore the historic port of Syracuse, Italy, providing guests with a blend of cultural richness and scenic beauty.

For those seeking a more serene voyage, the adult-only Marella Explorer 2 will make a welcome return to several popular Mediterranean destinations. Mahon, Menorca and Castellon, Spain will once again feature on the itineraries, ensuring guests can enjoy these favourite ports in comfort and style. Tickets for all summer 2027 sailings will go on sale starting 16 October 2025, giving early planners an opportunity to secure their preferred cabins.

New Horizons on Marella Discovery 2

The new additions to Marella Discovery 2’s itinerary form part of the captivating ‘Ionian Shores’ route, departing from Dubrovnik, Croatia. This marks a significant milestone for Marella Cruises, as it will be the company’s first venture into Albanian waters. Passengers aboard the ship can explore the natural beauty, vibrant culture, and historic landmarks of the Albanian Riviera, an area increasingly recognised as a hidden gem in the Mediterranean.

Beyond Albania, Marella Discovery 2 will also feature the popular ‘Greek Mystique’ itinerary, allowing travellers to discover the enchanting islands of Greece. Another highlight, the ‘Sail Three Seas’ itinerary, navigates through the Aegean, Mediterranean, and Adriatic seas, promising a rich blend of sun-drenched landscapes, historic towns, and picturesque coastlines. These cruises commence from 6 May 2027, offering travellers the perfect start to their summer adventures.

Marella Explorer 2 Returns to Spain

Meanwhile, Marella Explorer 2 is set to homeport from Malaga, Spain, for the first time in nearly a decade. The ship’s itineraries focus on the best of Spain’s coastal attractions. The ‘Spirit of Spain’ route revisits Mahon, Menorca, providing a mix of cultural exploration and leisure, while the ‘Spanish Sights’ itinerary returns to Castellon, ensuring guests can enjoy familiar favourites alongside new experiences. These sailings are scheduled to begin from 12 May 2027, catering to travellers seeking sun-soaked Mediterranean escapes.

Expanding Options Across the Fleet

The rest of Marella’s fleet will also offer a diverse range of summer itineraries, homeporting from key European destinations. Marella Discovery and Marella Voyager will both operate out of Palma, Majorca, while Marella Explorer will base operations from the idyllic island of Corfu. This strategic distribution of homeports ensures convenient access to a wide range of destinations across the Mediterranean and beyond.

Enhanced Cruise & Stay Experiences

To further elevate the holiday experience, Marella Cruises has expanded its Cruise & Stay programme. Guests now have access to 29 additional hotels across Majorca, Croatia, Corfu, and Spain, supplementing the 121 existing properties available to cruise & stay customers. This offering allows travellers to combine the excitement of cruising with the comfort of a land-based stay, providing flexibility and extended exploration. The programme operates from 21 airports across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, making it easier than ever for guests to reach their chosen destinations.

With a combination of first-time destinations, returning favourites, and enhanced accommodation options, Marella Cruises’ Summer 2027 programme promises an unforgettable season of discovery, relaxation, and Mediterranean adventure.
