I wasn’t in the day the pictures were drawn, so a teacher drew mine.
Nope, but thanks for making me feel old.
THE TEA TOWEL HOLY NOSTALGIA
We are all s’a m
Is this still a thing in schools?
Got mine back in the early 2000s.
Is Rob Robinson on there?
We are apparently the same age and I had forgotten that this was ever a thing! I bet my mam still has one squirrelled away somewhere.
Omg my sister has one of these too! 1991 Southdown, it was a mess and my mum still has it in her towel drawer. ✨
I hear Latchmere has a wave machine?
I checked to see if I was on there even though I didn’t go to your school .
Been a long day!
Is that the one in Battersea next to the swimming pool with the wave machine?
That was a big class!
1993? I feel old.
I was about to leave my first job in York for my second job in Amsterdam.
I am gen-x… just.
Do primary school kids still do this? Did ours in 2000 and I still have it, it was a lovely idea
I hope Sam is doing well 😅
Latchmere school in Battersea closed at the end of 1994 and it’s now posh flats.
I used to go to Falconbrook and Chesterton primary schools in the early 80s and knew Latchmere as it was one of the schools that used to be open during the summer holidays.
Still got mine from 1989, and my older two kids’ nursery ones! Youngest never got one :/
Jeez, Emma. Leave some artistic talent for the rest of the class.
Shitting hell did we all do these? It’s another one of those weird primary school experiences you thought was just exclusive to yours, like the younger kids accidentally singing the extra “OF KINGS” after “SING HOSANNA TO THE KING” in assembly
Edit: I was also in Y2 in ’93/94, wooo (different school though sorry to disappoint)
Who was the headmaster? Roger Hargreaves?
I LOVE those!
I have mine from 2003! Still in use as a tea towel.
I use mine as a mouse mat.
That’s really cute!
Omg this is an incredible memory you just dug out of my brain! Thank you for sharing
lol this one year is bigger than my entire primary school. Each class had about 20 people in and we did a whole school tea towel which was the same size as this and fit on everyone including teachers and assistants 😂
