Meghan Markle has graced Instagram with a fresh snapshot taken in her Montecito garden – but the timing has been called into question.
The 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex shared the image on Wednesday, coinciding with the commencement of US President Donald Trump‘s state visit to the UK.
Featured on her lifestyle brand As Ever’s Instagram page, Meghan is pictured in a flowing button-up blue summer dress, donning a wide-brimmed hat that conceals her face. It comes after Donald Trump and Melania’s unusual sleeping arrangements at Windsor Castle have been revealed.
In the photo, she’s attending to a potted plant, with the expansive Montecito residence she shares with Prince Harry visible in the backdrop.
Her caption read: “Seasons shift, but the garden stays magic.”
The timing of the post, as the Royal Family engaged with Donald Trump, sparked conversation among Royal enthusiasts, with some speculating that the upload was deliberately timed to coincide with the UK state visit.
A commenter on platform X remarked: “She just couldn’t help herself. She had to post something, anything today.”
Another voiced: “Can we put the focus on the royals please.”
Yet another added: “Nothing will overshadow William and Catherine tonight!”.
A different user stated: “Who cares! ! Everybody is watching the news at Windsor.”
While there are those who suggest Meghan’s post was a calculated move to align with the state visit, there are defenders of the Duchess pointing out her regular activity on her brand’s Instagram account, regardless of Royal happenings across the Atlantic.
Merely 48 hours ago, Meghan graced her followers with a new post on @asever, captioning it “extraordinary starts with you”.
Previously, the duchess posted an image showcasing herself donning a wide-brimmed hat amidst the greenery of her garden, accompanied by the words: “Harvest hues, golden views, and a season that feels like magic.”
Despite stepping back from Royal duties in 2020, Meghan and her spouse Prince Harry have remained silent on the current state visit unfolding in the UK this week.
