  2. Deary me so much being briefed from anonymous Labour sources. Doesn’t exactly speak to a lot of unity and solidarity does it?

They seem to be falling apart.

  3. They’ve been in power for too long. They’re complacent, they take Wales for granted, and they don’t stand up to their London masters. These are their chickens coming home to roost.

Voters have looked at them and they’re saying ‘not this time’. Unfortunately for Labour, there are two viable options for their voters to choose – Plaid Cymru and Reform.

And they’re choosing them. Like the article says, many in Wales are looking at Plaid and seeing the only realistic opposition to Reform. Labour was always, always, always the default choice for ‘anyone but the right wing’ voters… And now they’re losing that, too. It’s looking pretty bleak for Labour and it’s not like Starmer can help because he’s sinking in a pit of his own.

It’s not inconceivable that they could slip into fourth place behind the Tories or, and this does sound ridiculous in a Welsh context, the Liberal Democrats.
