1. It actually might be a best of both worlds in a shitty unfair and disgusting situation…if that makes sense. Jimmy comes back and people still cancel their accounts causing Disney to lose some money. It’s not ok and I hate abc/disney but they suffer both ways now

    Talks are reportedly taking place between Disney and Jimmy Kimmel’s team to get the host back to work after he was pulled from his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday

    Tensions are mounting at Disney as executives hold discussions to bring Jimmy Kimmel back on screen.

    Sources reveal that multiple face-to-face and virtual meetings have occurred to address the recent Jimmy Kimmel controversy, with the host’s representatives and network officials working toward a resolution.

    The negotiations follow the renowned talk show host being removed from the airwaves on Monday after making remarks about Charlie Kirk’s death. Charlie was killed on September 10 after he was fatally shot at Utah Valley University while speaking to students.

    The globe has been rocked by the killing, with many people, including the President, speaking out in support of Charlie. The 31-year-old is also having a memorial held in his name on Sunday at State Farm Stadium, Arizona.

    During his opening segment, Jimmy stated that the United States “hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”

    He then proceeded to criticize President Trump’s response to Kirk’s killing, stating, “This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish, OK?”

    Reports from Deadline indicate these discussions aim “to secure a pathway to end the indefinite benching of the Jimmy Kimmel Live! frontman.”

    However, any agreement reached by both sides would need to address potential concerns about a MAGA backlash.

    A source familiar with the negotiations between Jimmy and Disney revealed, “It’s an ongoing discussion, with a lot of distrust on one side. There’s no light at the end of the tunnel – yet.”

    This follows widespread outrage from the public and Hollywood celebrities, who have rallied behind Jimmy.

    Stephen Colbert addressed his audience with his perspective, stating, “I’m your host, Stephen Colbert, but tonight, we are all Jimmy Kimmel.

    “That is blatant censorship, and it always starts small. You know, remember like in week one of his presidency, the Gulf of America. ‘Call it Gulf of America.’ Sure, seems harmless. But with an autocrat, you cannot give an inch. And if ABC thinks that this is going to satisfy the regime, they are woefully naive.”

    Demonstrators have also gathered outside Disney’s Burbank studios, holding signs with messages like “legalize comedy” and “ABC is a coward.”

    One activist even parked a van outside the facility, displaying the message, “Disney: Stop enabling Trump’s war on free speech,” on its side.

Here’s my perspective; Disney under Chapek made a stance against the governor of Florida with the “don’t say gay bill” and got burned bad by the government revoking the reedy creek development district. My guess is, and I’m sure there are many others out there, that are truly afraid of what this administration would actually do to their businesses if they spoke up. I mean, we’ve seen what’s happened with law makers and other such rivals and citizens.

    Does it make it right? No. But through the massive schism that has divided western culture since around 2015, I don’t have any hope that anyone actually knows how to properly handle and/or deal with this situation. It’s easy to armchair this with what abouts and the like, but reality is a much different beast

21. I canceled my subscriptions, but not because Kimmel’s show is unavailable. I never watched it anyway. I canceled because they caved to the idiotic whims of a dictator who does not believe in our First Amendment, or our Constitution as a whole. Bring him back if you want, but the damage is done. I’m not going back.

32. I love sports. It’s my #1 hobby and I used to have ESPN or some version of Disney owned sports broadcasts on most of the day. I just canceled my cable and ESPN+ subs – it’s just not worth this. If I’m the kind of red-blooded sports obsessed American who is canceling my subs, good luck Mouse.

As long as Sinclair and Nexstar refuse to carry Jimmy Kimmel Live! then it really doesn’t matter if Disney welcomes him back. If Sinclair and Nexstar demand Kimmel apologize then what can Disney do?

    And now that these 2 conservative companies know they can force Disney to pull content they don’t like, what’s to stop them from pressuring Disney to air more conservative content? Or even pro-Trump content?
