22yo Started in CT and From mid June to September I drove 10000+ miles and visited friends and toured the national parks until I basically ran out of money
I learned a lot and can do much better next time
(Used Speedometer pro app to track all the drives)

  1. I did almost the same trip last fall minus the Florida track and did Tennessee/Kentucky/wv and cut up to the upper peninsula in Michigan instead of down to Chicago. Such an epic route, I’m glad you had fun! There’s is nothing like being on the open road and see how amazing the US is

  2. You drove through my hometown! How was the Michigan-Canada border crossing?

  3. The drawing your trip made looks like a smaller deformed version of the USA.

  4. A helpful piece of feedback, I would love to see the line be bolder so I can see the color easier, like three to four times thicker would be ideal.

  5. nice! just curious, what’d you learn and what would you do better next time?

  6. I feel like the elevation might be more meaningful if you take the log.

  7. Interested in where you stopped in western OK. There’s not much out that way

  8. I need to get my bank account up before this type of trip.

  9. 31 states plus Ontario? Did I count correctly?

Edit: I counted DC as a state and now realized you didn’t go through there. My tally is probably a tad high.

  10. Did you get a chance to check out Letchworth in western NY (south of Rochester)? It’s a gorgeous canyon and one of the few on the east coast.

  11. I can’t tell but it looks like you used US-191 to get to Arches. Next time drive UT-128. That road is an adventure within itself. Thats a really cool road trip.

  12. Dang, drive all that way but skipping the Beartooth MT Pass… you were so close!

  13. Guys I’m a little suspicious this guy is a Russian spy, he literally carved Russia in the US

  14. Am I colorblind or were you going 80-100 for the majority of your trip?

  15. Get a job at one of the parks for next summer, go work in the most beautiful places you can imagine, and drive home. Money problem solved! (I worked concessions at Yellowstone and Mt. Rainier, my wife at Yosemite. It’s a great experience.)
