ABC ends Jimmy Kimmel suspension, show will return Tuesday • FRANCE 24 English

Jimmy Kimmel is headed back to the airwaves. ABC’s parent company, Walt Disney, announcing Monday it’s reinstating the program just days after abruptly pulling the show in response to Kimmel’s controversial remarks about Charlie Kirk’s death. We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In a statement Monday, the Walt Disney Company said, “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. We’ve spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy. And after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.” The backlash from conservatives to Kimmel’s comments was swift. The show suspension quickly spiraled into a national debate over free speech. culminating in several rallies outside Kimmel’s Hollywood studio tonight. Yes, we know that Jimmy Kimmel uh expressed his opinion just like he does every night on a show and the president didn’t like it and decided that he was going to do something about it and say something. That is not how America works. That is a dictatorship. The U-turn is unlikely to sit well with Trump who had held the cancellation as great news for America. Jimmy Kimmel suffers from two things. First of all, he said a terrible thing about Charlie, but he also suffers from the fact that he’s got no talent and he’s got no ratings. Meanwhile, Kimmel has received support from across the entertainment world with over 400 celebrities signing an open letter calling the suspension a dark moment for freedom of speech. Trump and his administration have frequently issued threats and pursued lawsuits against what they claim is a left-leaning fake news media industry.

  4. Except the Sinclair Broadcasting group which owns many ABC affiliates stations will not air the Jimmy Kimmel Show. So much of America won't see it.

  6. There is NOTHING that he said that was inflammatory whatsoever. He just said the truth and MAGA cultists cannot handle the truth, especially about their own crowd and their own murders.

  7. Allowing sociopaths to monopolize our societies yields predictably disastrous results. Demand steep taxes on the rich, tax the legalized profit-driven cults, shatter corporate monopolies, and never fall for the lie that it is pro-speech to allow fascists to spout their deceptive rhetoric from their dais; they are anti-speech for everyone but themselves.

What’s weird is that people have likened what he said to him dying to when someone loses a goldfish but what he said was about trumps reply when asked about how he felt about his death and his response was equivalent someone losing a goldfish. Trump spoke more about new construction rather than answering about him sad it was. Pretty funny comment from kimmel.
