  1. I attatched a vid of the g1 and it looks incredibly capable of being used in combat

  2. I have no doubt that several companies are working on something like these.
Before those become reality on the battlefield though, I suspect some sort of exo skeleton that gives a person armor and weapons combined with AI technology. Either way, that future terrifies me.

  3. Wouldn’t aerial versions be faster and more agile? Modelling on human form limits the capability significantly.

  4. Depends. It looks kind of light. It may not be able to handle a guns recoil.

  5. I honestly don’t see much advantage to humanoid robots in warfare. Its just a situation where anything they can do, the combination of fixed-wing reconnaissance, fiber optic quad copter kamikaze/recoiless shotgun/bomber, and tracked autonomous resupply/medevac can do better, cheaper.

We don’t need a humanoid robot to man a remote observation point/turret. Just the remote OP/turret. Nor in urban warfare: its cheaper to send 20 shorter range fiber optic kamikazes to plow through obstacles than one of Musk’s robots. I think its a lot of hubris to think the human form is particularly well suited to remaining concealed, seeing movement, advancing across contested terrain, and applying firepower. We just came down from the trees recently, and we have a form that we make do with despite its limitations.
