Thousands Rally in New York Demanding Democratic Change in Iran
THIS PAGE WILL BE UPDATED WITH THE LATEST NEWS
UPDATE: 8:00 AM CEST
Message by Maryam Rajavi, to the grand gathering in New York
The perseverance of my compatriots, who gather here every year in protest, is in fact support for the courageous youth and those who spark uprisings inside Iran. This perseverance is the Iranian people’s asset for victory. From Paris and Rome and Brussels to New York—where today you have gathered from across the United States—the message is the same. It echoes the voices of Tehran, Mashhad, Ahvaz, Tabriz, Zahedan, Kerman, Kurdistan, and all across Iran, as well as in the prisons and among the prisoners. The message is very simple and clear: Overthrow and democratic change—a democratic republic, with freedom and democratic rights. And today, our nation—together with you and through you—stands before the United Nations and declares to the world and all nations: We are closer than ever to achieving this rightful demand!
Khamenei sacrificed over 1 million Iranians during Covid-19 pandemic to crush dissent, new information reveals
A stunning confession by a former senior official in the Iranian regime has confirmed what the Iranian Resistance has exposed for years: the clerical regime deliberately allowed the COVID-19 pandemic to kill a staggering number of its citizens as part of a criminal strategy to prevent popular uprisings. This was not a public health failure; it was a state-sanctioned crime against humanity, orchestrated by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, that resulted in the deaths of over one million people. On September 20, 2025, Mohsen Mansouri, who served as Executive Vice President in Ebrahim Raisi’s administration, admitted that the death toll from COVID-19 had already reached nearly 700,000 by the end of Hassan Rouhani’s presidency in August 2021. This figure is more than seven and a half times the regime’s official tally of 91,785 fatalities announced at the time.

Families of death-row political prisoners rally behind hunger strikers. This week’s statement by the campaign addressed the execution of Babak Shahbazi on the anniversary of the 2022 uprising. The statement read in part: “The brutal execution of Babak Shahbazi, one of the participants in the No to Execution Tuesday’s campaign, without allowing a final meeting with his family, stands as a shocking example of inhuman conduct and a blatant violation of human rights by this regime. His secret transfer from the ward for execution prompted protests and a sit-in by his fellow inmates at Ghezel Hesar Prison.”

Iran’s Regime Leader: Negotiation Is Useless and Uranium Enrichment Will Continue
On Tuesday, September 23, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei began his speech marking the anniversary of the eight-year Iran-Iraq war by focusing on “social unity.” He expressed satisfaction that the street protests had not occurred during the recent conflict, revealing his fear of the explosive state of society. The Trigger Pulled: A Turning Point for Iran’s Future
The activation of the UN Security Council’s snapback mechanism marks not just a diplomatic measure but a historic phase in the struggle between the Iranian people and the ruling theocracy. The activation of the UN Security Council’s “snapback” mechanism and the return of previous sanctions against Iran’s regime represents a strategic blow of historic proportions. This is not simply a matter of sanctions or legal provisions within a nuclear deal; it directly strikes at the political and ideological foundations of the ruling system. What the Iranian Resistance had long warned of has now become concrete reality: entry into the most sensitive and decisive phase of the conflict between people and state. From this perspective, the snapback is more than a legal instrument; it symbolizes the beginning of a decisive historical reckoning. It comes at a time when domestic and international crises are intertwined, placing the future of the regime under unprecedented strain.
