THE Ministry of Finance has announced the retail prices of petroleum products effective from 25 to 29 September 2025, maintaining current rates as Malaysia prepares to transition to a targeted subsidy system for RON95 petrol starting 30 September.

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim previously announced that the new scheme, known as BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95), will provide subsidised petrol prices to selected groups for the rakyat’s benefit.

Under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula, the retail price of RON97 petrol remains unchanged at RM3.21 per litre, while RON95 petrol is fixed at RM2.05 per litre.

Specific provisions under the BUDI95 Programme will see RON95 petrol priced at RM1.99 per litre for The Royal Malaysian Police and Malaysian Armed Forces personnel from 27 September, and the same price extended to Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients from 28 September.

Diesel prices remain unchanged, with RM2.93 per litre in Peninsular Malaysia and RM2.15 per litre in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.

The government has affirmed its commitment to monitor global oil price developments and implement measures to protect the welfare of the Malaysian people.
