Tbf I actually love the taste of a beer even if its non alcoholic so I’m good with this.
“We have to find _some_ way to sell this.”
That is interesting. Do they still ID you when you buy zero % alcohol? At least it happened to me last year in Tesco, I laughed and asked why, and they said “it’s still beer, would you be happy for your child to buy one?” (to which I said yes as it has no alcohol). So presumably a child who would be normally able to buy a meal deal won’t be able to do so with that can?
No mate, you can’t. It doesn’t have the little meal deal sticker next to it. Its on the same shelf, yeah, but the actual tag doesn’t have the orange/brownish “lunch meal deal drink” note on it.
I’ve fallen for this before, but with Monster. The normal green ones were on the meal deal but the pipelines weren’t. Sad days.
I remember working a night shift and having a microwave curry with alcohol free beer on the side my supervisor went nuts
Shame Corona Cero tastes like piss. 4x bottles of Carlsberg 0.0 are £2.75 in Tesco and they actually taste like the boozy version.
In the canary island story can get a beer with a meal deal. Dare to dream!
Ooh I love NA Corona
I dunno man
I saw alcohol free beer with meal deal markers in Tesco too.
Was going to get it to optimize the value of my meal deal until I noticed it was the alcohol free one.
Me, pounding 6 of these on a muted video call and seeing how long until I’m sacked.
All jokes aside I wonder what the general consensus would be if you cracked one of these open at work?
Countries back
Good shout to be honest. It’s also low calorie
The place I work stopped doing that about 1 month ago because nobody bought it.
I’m more of a ***PEACH VIBE*** kinda guy.
Meal deal in Berlin Airport has full fat beer included. Game changer.
Not new…
O% Guinness is king of non alcoholics
How close is this to the real stuff taste wise?
Why not its just fancy pop.
Ha, that’s nothing.
We used to be able to get alcohol from the school canteen as part of our school dinner in the ‘90’s.
Ok, it was bass shandy at a whopping 0.5%, abv and it was a cup of about 300ml, but it was popular.
The non-acloholic Heineken got me sober, drank heavily for over a decade until non- alcoholic beer hit. Been 12 month without proper alcoholic beverage.
I noticed this in my local co op today too lol
This is amazing.
It doesn’t have the drink logo on the edge ticket so it isn’t included in the Meal Deal… Fallen foul of this a few times when choosing a snack and getting to the till and being charged full price for all.
That’s a good one too!
Sainsburys have had Lucky Saint in their meal deal for ages! Love a lunchtime beer me
That’s odd. The SEL doesn’t say “Meal Deal Drink” on it.
I’m liking the NA Corona! I’m off alcohol ATM (maybe for good) to see if it helps with my migraines and so far since quitting booze I’ve been migraine-free so 🤞
I wish they could do a tasty NA wine though, that actually tastes like wine. My drink of choice was wine and I miss it ☹️
That specific label doesn’t have the orange meal deal sign so it’s probably not part of that specific offer, sadly. You could argue that since it’s in the meal deal section it should be part of the deal, and depending on who’s currently on the checkouts/supervising them* you might get it.
Then again, it’s less than 2 quid so you could just buy it separately.
(*i mean at least at the store I work this is how a similar situation would play out, I have no idea what co-op’s actual policies are)
I’m trying to image my bosses face, as I sit there and actually crack one of these open at my desk. It would be fun for sure.
It’s not though, there is no meal deal sticker under it.
