A 36-year-old man has been arrested at Belfast City Airport after police seized suspected Class B drugs worth an estimated £300,000 from his luggage.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch made the arrest on Wednesday (September 24) with support from the Organised Crime Task Force.

The man had arrived on a connecting international flight.

He was detained on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs, possession with intent to supply, and importation of controlled drugs. Police confirmed he remains in custody.

The seizure forms part of a multi-agency crackdown on organised crime linked to drug importation and supply. Officers warned that such activity fuels drug debts, addiction and drug-related deaths in communities across Northern Ireland.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about drug supply to contact them on 101 or report online at psni.police.uk/makeareport. Reports can also be made anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
