Sergeant Chalchau Shimon Demlash, 21, from Beer Sheva, a fighter in Battalion 932 of the Nahal Brigade, was killed by sniper fire in Gaza City, the IDF spokesperson announced. Demlash was fatally wounded while on guard duty at a protected position. He was critically injured and later succumbed to his wounds. IDF forces attempted to locate the terrorist who shot him but have not yet closed in on the shooter. Demlash is the 912th IDF casualty since the beginning of the war.
