  1. Many shareholders question the decision to capitulate so easily. More boards will ask the same question.

  2. Disney is definitely one of the only companies that can truly tell people to fuck off at times, but even their lawyers don’t want to deal with this.

“There is a credible basis to suspect that the [Disney] Board and executives may have breached their fiduciary duties of loyalty, care, and good faith by placing improper political or affiliate considerations above the best interests of the Company and its stockholders,” the letter reads, according to the [report](https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/disney-shareholders-jimmy-kimmel-suspension-records-legal-threat-1236528997/).

“[We reserve the right to file a lawsuit] in the event that members of the Board or Disney executives did not properly discharge their fiduciary duties.”

  3. This could be huge, if Disney is found in breach of their fiduciary duties…

  4. Let’s just be explicitly clear that they are pissed he was REMOVED. Not that he is back. The title sucks balls.

  5. Turns out the must see show of the season is the FAFO show

  6. Can they tack on an additional line item for being so stupid to move forward with price increases as they navigate the fallout from bending the knee to the regime? Feckin idiots running that company right now.

  7. It’s sad, but this is what’s needed to ensure Trump doesn’t keep succeeding when he threatens companies. If they win this lawsuit, every other company will be very cautious before they capitulate to Trump.

  8. THIS is what must happen. Hold television networks accountable to their shareholders if they pull that shit again. This will stop the cancellation of free speech, along with consumer boycotts.

  9. Iger has destroyed his legacy at Disney. The man picked the wrong person to replace him when he originally retired. Then he came back and has basically shit the bed at almost every occasion and bending over to the administration was the last nail in the coffin that was the legacy of Bog Iger.

  10. You can expect that they’ll replace the board of directors and fire the CEO in the next few months. You dont throw away $3 billion to appease a clown and then expect youre going to get away with it.

  11. Everyone is an asshole. If you adapt that as a standard outlook you will be more content

  12. The headline makes it seem like they’re angry that Jimmy Kimmel is back.

The investors are angry that he was taken off the air in the first place. That this decision was not done properly.

Capitulating to white supremacists is one thing but they went after the investor’s bottom line and it’s hurting them.

That company is tainted as far as I’m concerned and it has to do a lot to get rid of that taint.

  13. Disney already kowtowed to government censorship and violation of the first amendment by suspending the show. Only as a result of mass boycotts did they return Kimmel back to the air.

Disney is still working alongside Nexstar and Sinclair who seemed to lead the push to have Kimmel cancelled (Nexstar so they could continue to wittle down tv station competition in their bid to buy up Tenga), with Sinclair now attempting to blackmail Disney/Kimmel/ABC into giving Kirk’s family money (or else they’ll refuse to allow Kimmel back onto their stations)… a family who is still in charge of Turning Point USA.

I cancelled my Disney and Hulu accounts last week, and my boycott will stand. No more Disney owned content for me.

For a full list of Disney owned companies, see:

I just finished watching Andor before this happened, and it astounds me that Disney is so out of touch that they don’t even realize that they not only gave in to the “Empire” but became a champion for them in telling the story that this administration wanted them to tell, regardless if this administration’s narrative was based in reality or fiction.

Who else is getting increasingly sick of our corporations working in the best interest of their executives and shareholders, and not in the best interest of our nation, our constitution, and our people?

These executives and shareholders are nothing more than a bunch of greedy selfish pricks.

  14. call these shareholders Jean Valjean the way they’re REVOLTING

  15. hulu still won’t let me cancel my subscription. I click on the button and it just refreshes the page and shows the same button again.

  16. I think some people in the comments did not read this article and are assuming the shareholders are upset he’s back and it’s the exact opposite.

I don’t think an actual lawsuit will happen or go anywhere though. It is nice to hear people are still putting pressure on the company and are not just walking away now that he’s back.

  17. I worked for a Disney affiliate and was just laid off, and wondering if it has anything to do with this. Obliviously if it did they didn’t say that.

  18. The internet hate machine can’t stand being starved. They’re gonna ride this out even if there’s no steam left.

  19. The board cost the company nearly 4 Billion dollars, close to what they paid for Star Wars.

The shareholders have a good right to be pissed, and the members of the board should be worried about holding on to their positions on said board.

  20. Disney lost shareholders a lot of money by taking Kimmel off air

  21. Ohhh. What’s the matter, did Disney spill a little of their white supremacy on their public image?

  22. Keep calling advertisers. Your wallet is your voice in this reich. Sing with the chorus.

  23. Some were dismissive of Disney’s losses as seasonal…

Not so say the one’s taking it in the shorts. 😁

  24. Headline is confusingly ass, yes. However, don’t resubscribe. The only thing these corporate oligarchs understand is profit. Do not reward them for giving into a dictator, let it burn. Continue to cut off any service that bends the knee to a wannabe dictator, encourage others & let it be known why we’re doing it. They want to submit us into silence through threats & intimidation. Now is the time to use our collective voices.

  25. Don’t forget that the largest individual shareholder in Disney is George Lucas. And Laurene Powell Jobs is number two.

  26. I sold all of our shares because of the Kimmel suspension.

  27. and they had the nerve to increase the price for Disney+.

  28. Disney Lawyers are the most terrifying things on the planet.

Even with a Rigged Supreme Court.

Disney should never have let this happen. It would’ve been way way cheaper to see the lawyers on the administration.

  29. Bob Iger fucked with the money. You NEVER fuck with the money. Heads will roll.

  30. Abigail Disney, daughter of Roy Disney and Walt’s niece, is a liberal Democrat who puts her name and wealth to backup her beliefs.

Don’t know if she’s on the Board or not.

  31. They’ve always been revolting. Now they’re rebelling.

  32. They acted in the best interest of insiders, not shareholders.
