Prince William revealed the “hardest year” of his life as he opened up during a candid discussion in an upcoming TV series.

The 43-year-old Prince of Wales will be making a rare TV appearance with Hollywood star Eugene Levy in a trailer that was released for Apple TV.

Eugene, best known for his roles in Schitt’s Creek and American Pie, has had his own travel series since 2023.

The Reluctant Traveler follows the Canadian actor as he visits some of the world’s most beautiful and intriguing destinations in Costa Rica, Finland, Italy, Japan, Maldives, Portugal, South Africa, and the United States, exploring hotels and places.

In a trailer for the third series, Eugene received a letter inviting him to London to spend some time at Windsor Castle with the future King.

Eugene read out an invitation which said: “I heard that your travels have brought you to the UK and I wondered if you might like to see Windsor Castle?

“If you’re free at 10 tomorrow, why don’t you pop down to the Castle for a private tour. Would be great to see you!”

Upon his arrival, he was given a personal tour by Prince William who quipped: “We provide this service for everyone. We do personalised tours everywhere”.

As they enjoyed a pint together in a local pub, William opened up to Eugene about the “hardest year” of his life. In 2024, his wife Princess Catherine and his father, King Charles, were both diagnosed with cancer.

He admitted: “I’d say 2024 was the hardest year I’ve ever had. You know, life is sent to test us as well, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”

It is unknown which cancer they were both diagnosed with, but early this year Kate Middleton revealed that she was in remission, whereas King Charles is still receiving treatment.

As Eugene and William wandered through the well-kept grounds of Windsor Castle, the actor asked the Prince: “What do you do when you’re home?”

While laughing, William replied: “Sleep… when you’ve got three small children, sleep was an important part of my life.”

The special episode, Living The Royal Life In The UK, will air on October 3.
