One adult and three children have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Brampton on Friday night.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Ray Lawson Boulevard and Timberlane Drive, east of McLaughlin Road South, shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Peel police said two cars collided and one of the vehicles subsequently struck four pedestrians.

Peel paramedics told CTV News they took one adult and three children to hospitals.

Paramedics said one child sustained serious injuries while the adult and two other children suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The drivers of the vehicles involved also sustained minor injuries and remained at the scene, police said.

The cause of the initial collision is unknown.

Police have closed Ray Lawson Boulevard between McLaughlin Road South and Cherrytree Drive.
