China announces plans to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions • FRANCE 24 English

It’s a landmark pledge from China, the world’s largest source of planet woman gases. Speaking via video link to the UN in New York, President Xi Jinping announced China’s new ambitions to tackle global warming. By the year 2035, China’s net greenhouse gas emissions across the entire economy will decrease 7 to 10% from their peak, and we will spare no effort in improving that further. The share of non fossil energy consumption in our total energy mix will surpass 30%. But that figure falls short of what would be required to fulfill international climate goals. According to experts, at least a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is necessary in order to limit global warming to around 1.5°. She’s announcement comes as the US is rolling back on its pledges. On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump referred to climate change as a conjob. No more global warming. No more global cooling. All of these predictions made by the United Nations and many others, often for bad reasons, were wrong. They were made by stupid people that have cost their countries fortunes and given those same countries no chance for success. If you don’t get away from this green scam, your country is going to fail. Brazil, which has vowed to slash emissions by between 59 and 67% by 2035, will host the Global Climate Summit COP 30 this November.

At a climate leaders’ summit at the United Nations on Wednesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that China would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 7-10% and increase consumption of non-fossil fuels domestically. Xi discouraged developed nations from “going against the trend” of climate action, merely a day after Trump called climate change a “con job”.

  1. I think Xi jinping is the unprecedentedly great leader of China compared to the most recent two presidents of America. It's under Xi's leadership that China seems to suddenly become the strongest superpower in the world. On the other hand the US is so obviously rapidly declining that we can identify almost everyday.

  2. Given the level of Chinese development, they will get it done before Europe approves it. China has the tech to do it and sell the tech to other if they want to achieve the same thing. Good for them.

  3. China is, in fact, not the largest emitter. The emission should be per capita LOL. What a selective reporting.

  4. Ironic, isn’t it?
Now the US has an Orange King just love drill baby drill, oh well, the Americans are still living in the past and backwards, what can you expect

  5. China is building 40-50 coal power plants as we speak.

    Permitted and under construction.

That's why I am heavily invested in coal 🤣

  6. China’s emission per capita is way below U.S. Despite what Trump said, China is determined to bring it down further to counter global warming. That’s good news !

  7. This is coming from him is funny. China has one of the highest emissions in the world. They aint going to turn off any of their warehouses. china is so fcking hypocritical. Its crazy!
