The last 2 years my Thames Water bill jumped from £40 to £70 per month. I will not mention the non stop roadworks to remind us that they need to find billions every year to fund fat bonuses.

  1. Wait this can’t be right. We’re always told the private sector is agile, dynamic, disciplined on spending, provides excellent value for money, delivers projects at speed…. That’s the reason the Directors and CEOs must be paid these massively inflated wages – to attract the very best talent.

    Have I got that right?

  2. Cost of 7p per litre according to the article, which means running your tap for a minute would cost Thames Water 42p. Fuck me sideways, the total lack of corporate accountability is very upsetting.

Edit cos I never proofread until after I hit send.

  3. Isn’t it basically a contingentcy facility for extremely dry periods as the energy cost to run it is massive as is the case with desalination

  4. Imagine if it was a reservoir or three.. it didn’t produce terrible waste product and could be used everyday …
