Tegridy overstayed its welcome. Glad things seem to be back on track.
It would be good to show the list of the top 5 best and worst episodes
The distinction between great at 8.7 and awesome at 8.8 is a bit unwieldy. Would prefer to see good to be 7.0 – 7.9, Great to be 8.0 – 8.9 and Elite to be 9 and above.
IMDB ratings being a fairly unreliable measure, the South Park decline seems akin to The Simpsons (though I thought season 19 was excellent)
The two South Park episodes rated 9.5+ are “Scott Tenorman Must Die” and “Make Love Not Warcraft”.
Who came up with a rating system made up of 10 points, of which 6 are equally bad? Just make it a 1-5 stars or something at this point
I’ve seen every single episode of South. (Good ones I’ve seen several times.) I have never told IMDb what I think. (It doesn’t occur to me.) Unfortunately, these are the opinions of people that LOVE to tell other people what they think.
What are the 3 random episodes in S17 that are better than most?
It’s a shame they stopped putting effort in after getting paid big
Season 11 was apparently the goat?
Preschool. S8e10 was my all-time favorite. 10
What this chart really shows is how networks have killed the idea of real seasons. Many shows used to have 20+ episodes per season. For example, every season of friends was 24-25 episodes except the last 2 with 23 & 18.
Now you’re lucky if you get over 8. You’re really spoiled if you get 10. The Pitt had 15 which is mind blowing in nowadays.
I’ve never been a big fan (Make Love, not Warcraft is an all-time classic episode of TV though), but what happened in Season 20 to just universally fall down quality-wise?
I feel like putting 6 as red and 7 as orange/yellow seems a bit forced. I get you wanna show the difference but the fact that even the “bad” episodes are above average should say something. Sure, it’s not what it used to be but it’s not been like a Simpsons level decline.
Not Without My Anus is a stone cold classic, I don’t care what anyone else thinks
surprised the last 3 episodes are low. Its been amazing.
I need this to be interactive so that I can see each episode and find my favorites
Season 6 to 11-ish is peak South Park for me personally. Really clever satirical episodes on (then) current events, but also just some really silly non-political episodes. The later episodes felt too forced and jokes (tegridy) going on way too long. And the earlier episodes are just too childish.
A 10 point scale… but actually a 5 point scale
Imaginationland isn’t where it should be
Go fund yourself getting a 7.7 is criminal. That episode is such a banger.
What happened after season 14
I loved just about every “bad” episode
IMDb is not a good metric for anything but especially not any new media. Brigading makes all the info useless.
This is why you can’t trust people, ‘not without my anus’ is a masterpiece.
This feels like nostalgia since Southpark predates IMDB
I can’t see why the newest season is getting such good ratings, it just feels so tired old hack level humor at this point, some of the worst South Park I’ve ever seen honestly. Maybe its just the average reviewer being easy to please if they make it all about insulting Trump (and no I don’t support Trump, I just dont care to watch unfunny “jokes” about him)
Something happened where people started expecting South Park to be this biting political satire and Matt and Trey seem to feel the need to deliver on that.
But like… why? Why are Trump and Satan on screen more than the boys? Where are the simple episode concepts that deliver classics?
Like when I think back to golden age south park I never think of “Douche and Turd” or “About last night”, let alone the dumpster fire that was all of season 20 back in the first trump election.
I think most fans would want to see things like “Casa Bonita”, “Lil Crime Stoppers”, “Scott Tennorman must die”, “Awesome-O”, “Fatbeard” or “City Sushi”, compared to this crap we’re getting.
But I guess it should be expected, what show can actually stay consistently good for 20+ years
Ginger cow is a 7,7? I respect democracy and all nut if pissed off theocrats get to vote im out. Thefuck. Its (imo) the best ep out there
Nice table but I don’t think yellow should represent good
I love that even after all these years the april fools episode about Terrance and Phillip is still so hated because it interrupted the who was cartmans dad episode.
30 years of trolling.
Why does this look like a population density map of the United States
Fascinating to see season one considered average. In 1995-96, when the first South Park episodes came out it was complete insanity. The first episode with Mr. Hankey made me almost pass out from laughter. There wasn’t anything like it and immediately changed adult cartoons forever.
6 is above average, in what would is 6 garbage?!
I really wish the would go back a show about kids being kids and other silly stuff. Like the Aspen episode, Raisins, Casa Bonita
I grew up watching South Park and lived it. Still love the old episodes but haven’t watched much or cared to in the last 10 to 15 years. Seems like the new episodes don’t stick like the old ones used to?
Season 19 was pretty damn good. I mean, come on, Classy.
The cliff after season 15 is real
woah Id love this for a bunch of shows
Did something specific happen for season 15 to be the sudden drop off?

It would look better with the axes swapped
That’s one very colorblind unfriendly scale

Season averages would be a nice add
In case you were wondering, S10 E8 is “Make Love, Not Warcraft”.

Eat, Pray, Queef should not be red.
