Rabat – Morocco’s U20 football team is gearing up to play against Spain as part of the U20 World Cup stage group tonight.
The match will take place at 9 p.m. Moroccan time at the Julio Martinez Pradanos Stadium in Santiago. Chile is hosting the tournament.
beIN Sports will air the match as well as FIFA+, which is also offering a free-to-stream coverage of the game.
Morocco’s participation in the tournament ends a two-decade absence from the tournament. Morocco is drawn in a heavyweight Group C, which includes Mexico and Brazil, in addition to tonight’s rival, Spain.
Morocco qualified for the tournament after finishing as runner-up at the U20 AFCON in Egypt. The competition in Chile marks Morocco’s fourth U20 World Cup appearance.
Earlier this month, head coach Mohamed Ouahbi called up a 21-man squad for the tournament.
On Saturday, the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) said that Ouahbii called up Ilyass Mahssoub to join the squad. Mahssoub, who plays for Union Sportive Musulmane d’Oujda, will replace Hamza Koutoune.
FC Annecy, where Koutoune plays in France, refused to allow Koutoune to join the Atlas Cubs.
