SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WSBT) — Bringing the classroom outdoors!
ND-LEEF hosted Science Sunday, providing demonstrations and hands-on activities for adults and children.
Faculty, students, and community partners offered activities at St. Patrick’s County Park.
On topics including underwater robots, native plants, pond insects, ecosystems and food chains and live fish from the St. Joseph River.
“Yeah, I think it’s just a great opportunity for the public, for young kids to come get hands-on, talk to real scientists, just engage with their enthusiasm and see that people do this work and you can come and do this one day, maybe too,” said Brett Peters, ND-LEEF assistant director.
ND-LEEF is a unique environmental research collaboration between the University of Notre Dame and St. Patrick’s County Park.
