Any aggression against Russia will be met with ‘decisive response’, Lavrov tells UN • FRANCE 24

Sergey Lavrov addressed the UN General Assembly just a few moments ago. He warned that NATO and the EU that any aggression against Moscow will be met with what he called a decisive response. He also said Moscow is accused of planning to attack NATO and EU countries. Let’s take a listen to what he said. Threats of the use of force against Russia are increasingly being made. Russia is being accused of of almost planning to attack the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union countries. President Putin has repeatedly debunked these provocations. Russia has never had and does not have any such intentions. However, any aggression against my country will be met with a decisive response. So, Aiden, he’s, you know, really digging his claws into NATO here. What kind of decisive response could he be alluding to? Well, it’s certainly been a a busy week in terms of rhetorical shifts uh on how people high level leaders are are thinking about the conflict. Of course, earlier this week, we heard from President Donald Trump on True Social, who said that Ukraine could be in a position to win back all of its pre-war territory. Uh and then a couple of days ago, German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz delivered a a seeming challenge to Russia, saying that Germany now be may be in a position to mobilize seized Russian assets to use them to fund Ukraine’s war effort, a a position they had previously rejected. Uh Lavrav comments here seem to be appealing to this and and responding directly to these two leaders shifts uh in in more aggressive rhetoric towards Moscow. But again, this is all in the realm of of rhetoric and statements for now. It has yet to translate into any substantive policy changes on either side.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavron on Saturday told the UN General Assembly that his nation doesn’t intend to attack Europe but will mount a “decisive response” to any aggression. FRANCE 24’s Aidan Stretch reports from Kyiv, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday said Ukraine received a US-made Patriot air defence system from Israel a month ago.

  1. Europe has two choices to grow in the future. Destroy Russia or create good relations with Russia. They choose the first option. Wasn't a clever decision.

  2. We understand the propaganda Nato and the United States are playing. All the drones or what they claimed entered Poland and Denmark are organized by them. Who was hurt? Which military facility was hit? This should tell you they themselves are behind it.

  3. NATO is now only for EU. Trump handed over the baton to EU. Russia has not changed its objectives in Ukraine until now! No NATO Denazification and demilitarization. They stand firm and that’s why they are winning this war!!

  4. They always threaten dire consequences while we are considering the weakest, most de-escalating measures possible. As if our right to defend ourselves didn't exist. That must stop. Can't appease bullies. If they play with fire, we must make sure they get burned. That's just the way they learn, so let's help them get wiser. It's not that Russia has too many planes right now, or the means to build new ones, so losing another will hurt.

  5. This unga has only been about threats and rhetorics nothing good will surely come from this .. one thing we all know is most decisions that work and forced on African countries nothing more

  6. ukies try to bring eu into it) In a way it's a good thing. europeans are kind of useless anyway. they can only consume.

  7. Oh, Eurabia, you must get back to your Christian roots before it is too late! Had you read your Bibles, you would know how this "fable" of yours comes to an end!
