DENPASAR – Singaraja Immigration Office, Bali, deported a foreign national (WNA) from Turkey for exceeding a stay of nearly 8 months without having (violating) an official residence permit.
“The person concerned did not apply for an extension according to the provisions,” said Acting Head of the Singaraja Anak Agung Immigration Office Gde Kusuma Putra, Monday, September 29.
The Turkish foreigner with the initials HY was caught in a surveillance operation by officers from the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Section (Inteljakim) in Jembrana Regency (27/9), then he was taken to Singaraja for questioning because he could not show immigration-related licensing documents.
Upon inspection, the 45-year-old man had been 235 days or about 8 months without an official residence permit after his residence permit expired at the end of January 2025.
HY finally packed his belongings to immediately leave Indonesian territory and return to his country via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Badung Regency, Bali.
According to Agung, HY violated Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration because it exceeded the residence permit granted.
“We will not tolerate violations of residence permits, no matter how small. Every foreigner who violates the rules will be processed according to applicable law, including deportation and deterrence from entering Indonesia,” he said.
He emphasized that visa extensions or residence permits can be carried out long before the validity period runs out through an online system provided by the Directorate General of Immigration.
Through evisa.imigration.go.id or the Molina application, then, foreigners are given convenience in processing visas and residence permits.
